 PANEER GRAVY


Ingredients:

  • Paneer - 200gm
  • Ghee or Oil - 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Onion - 5nos. (big size)
  • Garlic - 6 to 8 flakes
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Tomato - 3nos.
  • Coriander seeds - 3 tsp
  • Black Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek - 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon -1 inch
  • Cloves - 2nos.
  • Red chilli - 6 to 8nos.
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli  - 3 to 4nos. 
  • Kasuri methi leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts  - 8nos.
  • Fresh Cream and coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Salt to taste

Recipe Direction:

Dry Powder:

In a pan add coriander seeds, red chilli, pepper, cinnamon, cashew nuts, cloves and fenugreek in the low flame roast it and allow to the cool. Grind into fine powder.

Making Gravy:

In the same pan add 2 tsp oil, onions, garlic , ginger, tomatoes saute for 5 to 8 minutes in a low flame and allow to the cool. Grind into paste. 
 
  • In a large sauce pan add 3tbsp oil heat well, then add the grinded gravy mix well in a low flame, add the dry roasted powder mix well in low flame for 3 to 5 minutes. Add salt to it.Cover with lid for 3 minutes in a slow flame mix well occasionally.
  • Pour 1/2 cup of water to gravy thickness in low flame cook well for 15 minutes till the raw smell goes. Check whether the oil separates from the gravy. Add dry kasuri methi leaves by crushing with palms. Gravy is ready.
  • Finally make the paneer into small cubes, fry it in a pan with 1tbsp ghee till light golden brown color add to the gravy.
  • Garnish with fresh Cream and coriander leaves. Serve hot with chappathi.
